Jibhi treehouses and Serolsar Lake - the quiet Himachal circuit from Delhi.

About this tour

Four days into the Banjar and Tirthan valleys - Jalori Pass, the Serolsar Lake trek and the UNESCO forests of the Great Himalayan National Park from Delhi. Two nights in Jibhi anchor the circuit. The first full day goes to Jibhi Waterfall through the deodar corridor, then the drive up switchbacks to Jalori Pass at 3,120 m and the 10 km round-trip trek to Serolsar Lake - the pine-ringed sacred lake with the Budhi Nagin Mata shrine on its far bank. The pass is one of the few in Himachal open year-round; the views down both valleys are wide and unhurried. The circuit then moves 20 km downstream to Tirthan Valley and Gushaini village, the main entry to the Great Himalayan National Park - UNESCO World Heritage since 2014. A guided buffer-zone walk along the Tirthan River, the Choie Waterfall trail through 500-year-old deodar groves, and the clear trout pools set the rhythm of the day. One night at a Gushaini or Rolla guesthouse before the morning departure and overnight private drive back to Delhi. Suited to couples, eco-travellers, and families with older children who want a quiet Himachal circuit beyond the Manali corridor.

Highlights

  • Jalori Pass (3,120 m) - motorable Himachal pass with Serolsar sacred lake just 5 km beyond on foot
  • Serolsar Lake trek - the still pine-ringed lake above Jalori Pass with the Budhi Nagin Mata shrine
  • Great Himalayan National Park, Tirthan - UNESCO World Heritage forest with brown trout in the Tirthan River
  • Jibhi Waterfall and Pond - the green stepped cascade through deodar forest above the Banjar valley floor
  • Gushaini village on the Tirthan River - stone-wall guesthouses and the valley's best trout fishing reaches
