TOUR RATING
New on Evynx

A fixed-departure group temple circuit - Yadadri, Warangal's Kakatiya temples and Ramappa.

About this tour

A three-day fixed-departure group temple circuit through central Telangana, east of Hyderabad - the Yadadri hill shrines, the Kakatiya temples of Warangal, and the UNESCO-listed Ramappa, strung along a single highway corridor. It opens in the Yadadri Bhuvanagiri belt: the gold-gopuram Swarnagiri Venkateswara temple near Bhongir, the cave shrine of Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy at Yadagirigutta, and Surendrapuri, a 17-acre mythological museum billed as India's first. The route then follows the Warangal highway to the Kakatiya capital - the star-shaped Thousand Pillar Temple at Hanamkonda - and out to Palampet for the Ramappa Temple of 1213, famous for its floating-brick tower and earthquake-absorbing foundation. Built for pilgrims and temple-architecture travellers who want the region's shrines in one focused run rather than scattered across a longer heritage tour, returning to Hyderabad on the final evening.

Highlights

  • Swarnagiri Venkateswara - a hilltop Balaji temple near Bhongir crowned by a gold-plated gopuram
  • Yadagirigutta - the Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy shrine cut into the black granite hillside
  • Surendrapuri - a 17-acre museum billed as India's first, with temple replicas and giant statues
  • Thousand Pillar Temple - a 12th-century star-shaped Kakatiya hall with a polished rock-cut Nandi
  • Ramappa Temple - a UNESCO site of 1213 with a floating-brick tower and cushioned foundation
