Rajputana Group Departure: Jaipur, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer & Bikaner

Jaipur · Pushkar · Jodhpur · Jaisalmer · Bikaner · Jaipur·
TOUR RATING
New on Evynx

A fixed-departure Rajasthan group tour - five desert cities and a Sam Dunes camp night.

About this tour

This eight-day Rajputana circuit runs as a fixed-departure group tour on set dates, pooling travellers through the desert-corridor cities on a single Jaipur round-trip loop. An 8-day loop from Jaipur through five distinct Rajasthani landscapes: the pink sandstone city itself, a midday stop at the sacred lake town of Pushkar, the blue-washed lanes of Jodhpur below Mehrangarh, the living fort and dune fields of Jaisalmer, and the fort-on-the-plains city of Bikaner, before the return drive closes the loop at Jaipur. Two nights each in Jaipur, Jodhpur and Jaisalmer let the pace settle into each city instead of rushing between stops, while Pushkar is covered as a single en-route stop and Bikaner gets one night to close the desert corridor before the return drive. The Sam Dunes camp night is scheduled for the October-March window, when desert nights are cool enough for comfortable tented stays and the dune surface holds its shape for photography.

Highlights

  • Amber Fort - Sheesh Mahal mirrored hall built 1592 for Raja Man Singh I's private apartments
  • Jagatpita Brahma Mandir, Pushkar - one of the world's few temples dedicated to Brahma the creator
  • Mehrangarh Fort - Rao Jodha's 1459 hill citadel, walls rising above Jodhpur's blue-washed rooftops
  • Jaisalmer Fort - 1156 living fort where roughly 4,000 residents still inhabit the sandstone ramparts
  • Junagarh Fort, Bikaner - built 1589 on flat ground, with the gold-leaf Anup Mahal audience hall

Requirements

What you’ll need and key rules before you go.

What you’ll need
Essentials
  • Carry a valid photo ID - required at every fort and haveli ticket counter across all five cities
  • Slip-off footwear - Jain temples inside Jaisalmer Fort and Mehrangarh require bare feet at entry
  • Light cottons for the day, one warm layer for desert nights at Sam - Thar swings are sharp
  • Cash in small denominations - card acceptance is patchy at havelis, temples and roadside stops
Optional
  • Wide-brimmed hat and sunglasses for the exposed ramparts at Amber, Mehrangarh and Jaisalmer forts
  • Basic Hindi phrases for Sadar Market and the haveli quarter - English is limited outside hotel staff
  • A dust scarf for the open-jeep dune run at Sam - afternoon desert winds carry fine sand
Rules & entry
  • Footwear removed before entering Brahma Mandir's sanctum and the Jain temples inside Jaisalmer Fort
  • No public display of affection inside any of the five forts' inner palace chambers
  • Photography restricted or ticketed inside several haveli interiors - check rules at each entrance
