A quick glance to help you understand what all will you experience during your journey
“One plantation-cottage estate for all four nights - Abbey Falls at dawn before the crowds, a full day left open, and Raja's Seat at sunset rather than a sightseeing stop on the way out.”
“One plantation-cottage estate for all four nights - Abbey Falls at dawn before the crowds, a full day left open, and Raja's Seat at sunset rather than a sightseeing stop on the way out.”
Below, you'll find how this journey unfolds - day by day, guided by people who live it.
The drive follows NH275 west from Bangalore - expressway to Mysore, then estate country toward Kushalnagar before the ghat climb into Madikeri. A relaxed mid-morning departure means you arrive with the afternoon still ahead of you, and nothing scheduled to fill it.
Your base for all three nights is a Premium plantation-cottage estate near Madikeri - individual cottages set among older coffee and pepper plantings, chosen for quiet rather than resort amenities. You keep the same room for the whole stay; nothing to pack or move.
Lunch en route - Self-planned. Dinner at the estate - Included; a simple home-style Coorg meal, with no cooking session or kitchen agenda attached to it.
You leave Bangalore for the Coorg highlands and settle into a plantation-cottage estate near Madikeri. There is no first-day sightseeing stop - only the drive, check-in, and a slow walk through the estate grounds as the light fades.

Abbey Falls sits a short drive from most Madikeri-area estates, reached by a narrow plantation road that's quiet at this hour. You walk down through coffee and cardamom undergrowth to the suspension bridge and falls, then back up at your own pace - no group to keep up with.
Same cottage, same estate - no packing or moving today. Afternoon light through the plantation is the main event; many guests spend it on the veranda or on the estate's own walking paths.
Breakfast at the estate - Included. Lunch - Self-planned. Dinner at the estate - Included, home-style, no cooking session.
An early start gets you to Abbey Falls' plantation trail before the tour buses, with time to sit by the water without a queue. The rest of the day is unscheduled - back at the estate by early afternoon with nothing else planned.

There's no drive to plan for most of the day - the estate's own plantation paths are yours to walk at whatever pace you like. Raja's Seat is a short evening drive from most Madikeri-area estates, timed to arrive as the light starts to turn.
Third and final night in the same cottage. If you haven't yet walked the estate's older plantation blocks - past the processing shed, into shade-grown coffee under silver oak - this is the day most guests do.
Breakfast at the estate - Included. Lunch - Self-planned. Dinner at the estate - Included, home-style.
No stop is planned today. Guests typically spend it on the estate's own trails, reading on the veranda, or simply staying still - Raja's Seat in the evening is the only fixed point, for sunset rather than a sightseeing box to tick.

Checkout is unhurried - there's no early-departure pressure built into this day. Nisargadhama is a short detour near Kushalnagar, reached by a hanging bridge over the Cauvery onto a forested river island, before the expressway drive back to Bangalore.
No night booked tonight - you're back in Bangalore by evening. Checkout from the estate is late-morning, with nothing scheduled before it.
Breakfast at the estate - Included. Lunch - Self-planned en route. Dinner - Self-planned, likely after you're back in Bangalore.
A slow final morning at the estate before checkout, then a stop at Cauvery Nisargadhama for a last quiet hour by the river and bamboo island on the way out of Coorg.
