About this experience
Two guided days across the Khasi plateau around Shillong, for travellers already based in town. The first covers Umiam Lake's monsoon cloud-roll, Elephant Falls' three-tier cascade and Shillong Peak's city panorama, all within a short drive of central Shillong. The second goes further out to Mawphlang Sacred Forest, a 130-year community-protected grove with dolmens and a zero-removal rule, then Laitlum Canyons where fast-moving cloud fills a 200-metre gorge from below, and closes at the Don Bosco Museum's seven floors of North East tribal history. A private guide and SUV cover both days. Accommodation between the two days is arranged independently.
