EXPERIENCE RATING
New on EvynxA guided day from Sissu - waterfall hike, a Lahauli fortress and the valley's darkest sky.
About this experience
A single guided day based from Sissu, for travellers arranging their own valley stay. The morning is a guided hike to Sissu Waterfall, a glacial cascade dropping off the cliff above the village on a moraine trail framed by Lahaul's bare snowpeaks. The afternoon covers the fifteen-kilometre drive down the Chandra Valley to Gondhla Castle, a seven-storey stone-and-timber Lahauli fortress and one of the region's best-preserved historic structures. The day returns to Sissu for an evening walk along the turquoise Chandra River and a stargazing stop under some of India's least light-polluted skies. A private guide and vehicle cover the full day; accommodation and meals are arranged independently.
Highlights
- Sissu Waterfall - guided moraine trail to a glacial cascade above the village, snowpeak views throughout
