The first guided day is anchored by Auniati Satra, its Ahom-era manuscripts and royal jewels, closing with the monks' evening Naam Prasang chant. The second moves through Samaguri Satra's Bhaona mask workshop, a Mising stilt village with pit-loom weaving, and a private Sattriya dance at Uttar Kamalabari - India's 8th classical form, danced here for five centuries. Your guide and vehicle handle both days; you arrange your own island stay and the Nimati Ghat ferry crossing.

- Cash (INR) - no reliable ATM on Majuli; withdraw before taking the ferry from Jorhat
- Modest dress for satra visits - cover shoulders and knees in all monastery courtyards
- Comfortable walking shoes - satra courtyards and village paths are flat but unpaved in places

- Binoculars for the embankment birdwatch - migratory geese season is October-February

Rules & entry
- Satra photography permitted in courtyards; ask before entering shrine rooms or filming dance
- Naam Prasang: arrive before 17:30, sit quietly at the back, phones on silent, no photography
- Footwear off before entering any satra prayer hall; ask before photographing Mising villagers
