About this experience
A guided day through the strand of Kurukshetra's story that has nothing to do with the epic battlefield, for travellers already based in the town. Your guide takes you to Sheikh Chilli's Tomb in nearby Thanesar, a 17th-century Mughal-era Sufi complex with its own madrasa and an ASI-run museum, a genuinely separate slice of the town's layered history. The afternoon moves to the Kurukshetra Panorama & Science Centre, where dioramas recreate scenes from the Mahabharata war. The day closes at the Kalpana Chawla Memorial Planetarium, built in 2007 near Jyotisar in memory of the Karnal-born astronaut.
