EXPERIENCE RATING
New on EvynxA high-pass drive and a guided forest trek to the sacred Serolsar Lake.
About this experience
A single guided day from Jibhi to Himachal's most rewarding alpine walk. Your guide drives you 12 km up the switchback road to Jalori Pass, a grassy saddle at 3,120 metres strung with prayer flags where the Kullu Valley opens west and the Shimla ranges stretch east. From the pass, a trek guide leads the 5 km forest trail through rhododendron, kharsu oak and blue pine to Serolsar Lake, a still glacial pool ringed by spruce and fir with the Budhi Nagin Mata shrine on its far bank. Packed lunch by the water, then the same trail back to the pass and the descent drive to Jibhi in the late-afternoon light.
Highlights
- Jalori Pass (3,120 m) - motorable Himachal saddle with prayer flags and a wooden chai stall
- Serolsar Lake - 5 km guided forest trek to a still glacial lake ringed by spruce and fir
- Budhi Nagin Mata Shrine - sacred lakeside shrine on the far bank, tended through the season
- Western Tragopan Habitat - conifer trail passing through prime range for Himachal's state bird
